It’s time to go back to Fuzeta

The ferry has returned...

If you’re lucky enough to see this, (for it doesn’t happen very often), you may get to see some spectacular waves crashing onto the beach. Whilst you can’t swim on the ocean-side of the Fuzeta beach, you’ll still be able to swim in the calm waters of the lagoon side. The pictures will show you exactly what we mean....

By contrast, the next series of photos show Fuzeta beach two months later...

Fuzeta ocean beach in the Algarve

Plenty of beach for everyone

Fuzeta does have two beaches. A town beach that you can walk to, and an ocean beach a few minutes over the Ria Formosa. For the ocean beach, you can take your own aqua taxi, or take one of the more popular little ferries.

The ferry adult return fare is less than a couple of Euros, and for that you get a nice little boat ride, and a huge beach when you get to the other side. The part of the beach where the ferry drops you can be rather busy, but if you are prepared to walk a couple of hundred metres, the umbrellas soon disappear leaving you miles of almost empty beach...

Our Journey starts then, in the large car park in front of the town beach. Fuzeta has a lot of free parking, but it can get very busy in the peak season. Wherever you park in the town, just walk in a south-easterly direction, until you see the boats moored, along with one of more ferries waiting for you. The ferries to Fuzeta beach run to and fro all day long, but they do stop over lunchtime, usually between 1pm and 2pm. Opposite the boats on the other side of the road is a wooden hut from which to buy your tickets...

Enjoy Fuzeta Beach !
